چکیده
This study is considered to be the first investigation of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in terms distribution and sources identification for three land-use Babylon governorate, Iraq. Potential US EPA priority PAHs were identified by employing diagnostic ratio as well principal component analysis (PCA) method. Additionally, Incremental Lifetime Cancer Risk (ILCR) model was determined order assess risk exposure individual street dust (SD). Findings indicated that total sixteen concentrations samples 555.9, 1388, 1221.8 µg Kg?1 Residential Area, Industrial Commercial area, respectively, with an average 1055 Kg?1. Moreover, findings pointed out percentages both LMW HMW (included MMW) accounted 38.3% 61.7% PAHs, respectively. Two components are founded PCA 75.8% contributed 24.2% PAHs. Ratios results nutshell predominance pyrogenic source suggested possible such emission from vehicles, regular gas fuel combustion activities, coal wood, major cause SD all governorate. Results ILCR stated cancer targeted individuals exposed more than 10-4 referred increase potential health risk. The contamination governorate needs urgently addressed on priority. this work beneficial utilize it a benchmark future research.

Assessment of Sources and Health Risks of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the Street Dust of Dezful City
Street dust is mainly affected by the pollution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). PAHs are a group of organic pollutants consisting of two or more benzene rings and are mainly produced during incomplete combustion. PAHs have attracted widespread attention due to their high carcinogenic and mutagenic properties in humans. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the sour...

To better assess and understand potential health risk of urban residents exposed to urban street dust, the total concentration, sources, and distribution of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in 87 urban street dust samples from Tianjin as a Chinese megacity that has undergone rapid urbanization were investigated. In the meantime, potential sources of PAHs were identified using the prin...

The sum of the six PAHs ranged from 30.5-1016.6 ng g -1 with an average of 286.6 i...
متن کاملBiodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Petroleum Contaminated Soils
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a class of potentially hazardous chemicals of environmental and health concern. PAHs are one of the most prevalent groups of contaminants found in soil. Biodegradation of complex hydrocarbon usually requires the cooperation of more than single specie. In this research biotreatment of PAH (phenanthrene) was studied in a solid-phase reactor using indigenou...

To assess the distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and identifying the main source of the pollutants in coastal, canals, riverine and the upper Gulf of Thailand, surface sediments were collected from urban canals (n = 8), the Chao Phraya River (n = 11), estuarine (n = 9), coastal area (n = 14) and the upper Gulf of Thailand (n = 28) and analyzed for 3-7 rings of PAHs. Sources...
